final round of doily!!!!

Well here is the start of the final round of this doily!!! Yay! now I only have 19 more motifs to go.

I also wanted to share some photos of the Pipevine Butterfly (pattern by ds9designs) that I did a few months ago and Jane Eboralls penguin that I tatted. I love these two patterns and had soooo much fun doing them. I cannot say the same for the doily all I will say is grrrrr.... and that's it! I guess that sums up my feelings about my current project. This is one that I will breath a sigh of relief to have it done. Well that is all I will share with you today.
Happy tatting!!!!

Tatting, Tea, and Tuesday!!!!

Sorry it has been so long since my last post but, the flu bug would not leave me and it took me off my feet for two weeks. I am feeling better but, I still get tired very quickly. Here is what I have been doing today, the next round on the Burda doily (Yay) and I did have a nice cup of ice tea. Sorry about the picture I will have a better one in a few days:) This pattern has really made me get out of my comfort zone as many of the joins are just not the norm.( It also may drive me crazy) I am hoping that I will have the doily done by the end of the month or at least on the last round as I have so many other projects I want to do like some butterflies or maybe the oh so cute gecko and a few more dragons (I just love Anne's Norwegian dragon) and maybe finish my handkerchief and....... well I guess you see I have a never ending list of wanttatats.;)
We are having such a beautiful spring this year! Our bluebirds have returned this year and have a nest in our bluebird house!! It is so much fun watching them! Hmmmm... I am gonna have to tat a blue bird I think :)))) What's one more thing added to my list?!?

Hugs

April's Tatting Adventure: Day 2

Well, here is round 4 of my doily! I had a very nice Tatting Tea Tuesday. I had a cup of tea and some chocolate (I know that chocolate is not a part of Tatting Tea Tuesday but, I really enjoyed it anyway) and did a lot of tatting. This is my first time to actually take out time on Tuesday to enjoy myself and just tat. I am very pleased with the way this doily is turning out. I like how the chains in round 4 go over top of the chains in round 3. I can not say that this is an easy pattern but, it is just so pretty, that I am determined to finish it even if it makes me a little nutty.Wahahahaha
Happy tatting!!!!

April's Tatting Adventure

Here is the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds done of the doily from the Tatting From Burda book! The next round joins these three rounds together. Hopefully I will have some more done by tomorrow. This pattern is really making my mind work hard! I don't have a lot of brain power to spare so I will have to take my time at this.LOL
I am looking forward to tatting tea Tuesday!! I am going to get out my pretty tea cup and sit down with my tea and tatting and have a great time!
My DH has been helping me make my blog nicer. Hasn't he done a great job!?! I am really computer illiterate so I need all the help I can get.
Well I hope to have more to show you all tomorrow!

What was I thinking!?!

Well international tatting day resulted in no chocolate and no tatting for me due to a nasty flu bug that decided to visit. I was feeling a little better yesterday so I decided to have my tatting day a few days late. (better late than never) I do not know what I was thinking to try and do a more complicated pattern when I still was under the influence of the bug. Well as you can see from the pic my first attempt at this doily pattern is not the best and I will be starting it again when I am feeling better. I got the book Tatting From Burda a few months ago and just love the doily on the cover but I have found that the patterns are a little difficult for me to understand. Not sure if it is just me or if they really are more difficult, anyway I am going to tat the center over again with one or two more ds in between the picots and then it may work out a little better. I am pleased with some of my block tatting though. I have never done a lot of it and am enjoying it.

I also have a second project that I am working on. Now understand that I am one of those people who usually have to finish a project before I can move on to the next one. This is very rare for me to have two things going on at the same time but I am really enjoying it. When I tire of the one I can pick the other one up! I am doing this pretty handkerchief edging all because of the recent poll on intatters about what we use for a runny nose. Hmmmm..... I always use tissue but several people have made some really good comments on the use of cloth hankies. It also brought back memories of my grandma and her hankies which she always had in her dress pocket. I now want to carry a pretty tatted hankie in my pocketbook just to be able to take out when I need to wipe away a tear or two and quite honestly just to show the beauty of tatting. LOL

I wish all a very happy Resurrection Sunday!!!! He is risen!!!!
